Doing Business With The State of California

The State of California purchases a wide variety of goods and services ranging from pencils to temporary labor.  Annual purchases total almost $10 billion.  The Procurement Division (PD) is the central purchasing authority for all State departments, agencies, institutions, community colleges, technical institutes and city or local boards of education.

The SBDC North San Diego County is here to offer no cost training and one-on-one consulting to help you through the maze of doing business with the State of California.

To help you get started:

1. Get registered in the eProcurement database (BidSync) to do business with the State of California. ***Please note this registration is FREE*** There is a "fee-based" option but, at this time, you will not need it.  The SBDC consultant can show you step-by-step how to find those opportunities with a fee associated with it.

2. Get certified either as a SB (Small Business) or DVBE (Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise) through eProcurement (BidSync) and increase your opportunities with State agencies. To find out if you qualify; schedule an appointment today with the SBDC consultant: 760-795-8740

3. Research and find your buyer (they are listed on the bid announcements in BidSync)

4. Make contact with the buyer and the small business liason (if applicable)

5. Market...Market...Market
